About TripDJ
TripDJ is a project to create free travel guide for independent travelers who believe that getting lost somewhere or asking a local for direction is part of their best traveling experience.
The project is built with the belief that sharing of travel information should be simple and not limited to the languages used. This is only if you have tried uploading a picture to Wiki, or find out that the most updated train timetable in Taiwan is written in Chinese!
A framework was created on top of an easy tool to turn everyone into an author for this project and to produce light, practical, reliable and green travel information.
People who agree with the following statement are more likely to use and contribute to TripDJ project
- The lesser known places get less coverage and hence less people go there
- Guidebooks are useful but you can travel without them
- Planning your trip with wild search is never easy
- Search result turned out to be another hotel booking website
- Indigenous people often only wear traditional clothes for festive occasions
- Not all beaches are postcard perfect
- It’s better to show a picture of Nasi Lemak than describing it in 300 words
- Carry a big thick guidebook and often end up using only 10% of it
- A 9-day Europe trip is way too short
- Chances that you talk to a local is slim when you are in a guided tour
